We began our new unit this week by watching a clip from the movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, called Pure Imagination. If you click on the title of this post, it will take you to the video.
I also read a portion of Roald Dahl's book, The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me. Then the children imagined what kind of a Grubber Shop (candy store) they would create if they could! All sorts of ideas were drawn on their papers. They shared their creations with their classmates.
Our next step will be to see if we can begin to identify what the creative process is by engaging in many creative activities so that they children can identify their own creative process.
Please send in old items from home that the kids can use to create things with.
