We are having a good time getting to know each other in the Advanced class. All children are eager to speak and play in German. We began the school year by talking about our summer vacations and our families. Each child illustrated a poster about his / her family.
We read the books Der Regenbogenfisch and Regenbogenfisch, komm hilf mir and did a lot of drawing, playing and short writing exercises about the books. We talked about friends and friendship and about the appropriate behavior towards friends and other students.
We read the book Irgendwie Anders and discussed how we are alike and different.
We introduced a class diary. Every child can draw or write something he or she wants to tell the class on a voluntary base. All children love to use the diary.
To improve the children`s reading comprehension we have a lot of German books in class and the children can take a book and read, when they have finished a certain task in class.
Please have your child show you what they have been doing in German.
